Warcraft III: Reign Of Chaos
and frozen throne
I understood that buying the Game in the Steam (EGS, Fanatical - Steam, Humble Bundle - Steam, EA, Rockstar) store and enjoying it is better than waiting for it here (gog) for eternity. |||
A lot of games will never be published in the gog store it is a fact! For different reasons many games will never be published in the gog store - fuck_DRM policy (or at least gog trying to pretend DRM-free), absurd terms of cooperation that gog is pushing, support policy that is completely frustrating and disappointing, and of course non-professional personnel.
It would be beyond awesome to have the OG version available somwhere, not the remastered version
Please bring this to GOG!
The fact that we have to pirate this game in order to be able to play it correctly its mind blowing, please manage to get a version of the game that its totally separate from WC3: Refunded.
Yes, please.
Just looked at battle.net and they do in fact.......not have their older games, especially not for free.
blizzard sold warcraft 1 and 2 so, warcraft 3 might be sold some day but, likely not while they still host servers for warcraft 3 reforged.
It could be good thing - Warcraft III before reforged - without battle.net just for single player and lan experience
@Tomic RoC was released in 2002. There are plenty of newer games on GoG.
And Blizzard could include a unique CD Key with each purchase, so GoGers could still use B.Net.
Since when does 2003 qualify as old? My copy works fine on Windows 10.
Why can people not accept that Blizzard will not ever sell their games in any other places than their own battle.net service (disregarding the old true physical versions)?
Look, Blizzard makes boat loads of cash with their own online shop and dictates its own (rather pricey) price politics ... this would make no sense from a business perspective to let go sales on other competing (digital) platforms. The current owners of this company knows how to do business long-term and proved that their strategy is allowing them to swim in money.
So, PLEASE stop voting and "praying" for any game of Blizzard products. It will not happen. If you want to play the really old games, visit battle.net. You can download their oldest games for free no strings attached.
Contrary to what legendlazy said, all Blizzard games currently sold through battle.net do in fact have a form of DRM on them, albeit one that you'd not recognize as being there. It's a code pre-set into the game files that you download from them that gives you a unique identifier and as such nobody can play your copy of it online at the same time that you do, but it does nothing to restrict installations and does not require logging into a server (Note: This applies to the older games where you're not greeted with a login screen upon startup, not the more recent games)
Like I said on Diablo, they can remove batte.net, and preserve a market for the current version.
One of the best RTS games I have played, but yeah, Blizzard wouldn't allow it. Thats a shame. : (
This is available on Battle.net also Blizzard will NEVER sell their games on any other service. There is no DRM on the version that you can buy straight from Blizzard so you don't gain anything from getting it from GoG anyway.
Oh yes. One of the best good old games.
